A buddy of mine just got the 150g red sea peninsula. Long story short, the stand is a bit short for one of the wall in his kitchen so he wanted to raise 8” so it can be view on the opposite side. We build an 8” base using 2x8 with 3/4 plywood cover.
I want to double check with some expert here if the base shound be good to support the tank with water.

Another concern that i have is noticing the gap between the stand and the tank in the front rigjt corner. Im not a red sea owner so i’m not familiar with the setup. Is something like this normal and will flushed after water is filled or integrity concern?

I would double up on the 2x8 from the inside. Also I would put L brackets from the inside. I forgot what the framers call it.

Did you get a response from Red Sea about the gap in the corner between tank and stand? I just put my 625xxl together and have same small gap in corner. Did it go away after you filled it?

Here's mine:
