Good evening everyone, below is a list of all of the equipment that I am planning for my reefer 750 so far. I am also still trying to decide if I want to change the plumbing and include a manifold right off the bat. If I'm going to do it, I'd rather do it when setting it up then later. I would also appreciate any feedback or guidance on filtration. I have been considering doing a co2 scrubber and a ats, please let me know if you would do this when first setting up or what you would recommend. I plan for this to be a mix reef eventually, but only fowlr for at least the first few months. Thank you all for your help, take care.

Thanks for the post - I’m following as I’m planning a 2nd tank myself, RSR 525 XL.

For the ATO have you considered the ATK?

I run an ATK to keep my RSR 250 ATO full from my remote RODI reservoir daily and are planning to do the same for the 525. I like the simplicity of the gravity fed ATO and constant salinity. A bit of programming and the failsafes in the ATK mean I can be confident I will never have a water spill due to the ATO.

The only downside is that I need to clean the float valve every couple of months but I have an optical sensor in the sump to alert me to any issues there using one of the two spare FMM ports. The other FMM port is used for an external leak detector.

I have a RSR XXL 750 halfway through a four month cycle right now. Your equipment list looks solid.

I agree with @Tastee about the ATK.

For me, using the Neptune DOS for continuous automatic remote water changes is just what I needed to be successful in the hobby. In the past, I’ve gotten lazy with water changes on every tank I have ever owned in my entire life.

The Varios 8 pump is good. I use that.

I am debating lighting right now. I was always going to go with the AL Hybrid Fixture with Kessil X360’s, but the new RS ReefLED’s put me in a holding pattern waiting for BRS to do a BRS Investigates episode on them.

I would get a flowmeter for your return. I have one and it is really nice to know when you Varios pump needs cleaning.

I have the XF280’s and XF250’s. The 280’s are on a whole different level then the 250’s. Assuming their naming convention is the 250 = 350, I would wait for the 380’s or get the 280’s.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I was just admiring your build the other day. I love the way you did your manifold, I plan on copying that! I've looked into the atk, I still may do that. I just happened to get the tunze in a package deal. I definitely want awc, I'm lazy as well with that! I would like to run it from my water station but not sure if it would make the distance. I would have to run it down and under the crawl space or up and through the attic, which I would be afraid to have water liners coming down my walls! I also like the marine pure balls.

I just sold my hydra 52's, I'm going with xr15 or XR 30's not sure yet but still with hybrids. I was thinking amit doing a long cycle like yours at first, but not sure I could wait 4 months!

I plan on having the flow meter, that's actually a must for me.

I took a looked at the two gyres, the 280 moves like 6000 gph and the 350 moves like 5800 gph. I still have plenty of time to decide on this one!

Thanks again
