Well I got into the hobby in November. I Got a 75 gal acrylic point of sale off Craigslist. I hate it and the sump especially.
So I started shopping and before I knew it I had just purchased the Lamborghini of tanks. I’m pretty nervous as this is the coolest thing ive ever owned and don’t want to screw it up.

So this is my thread so I don’t create 1000 others

Here is the tank I started with just to get my feet wet

Looks beautiful. Great start is it going to be a almost only coral tank or both fish and coral. (besides the two clown)?

Congratulations on your new purchase, if it looks anything like your first one it’l be awesome :)

You have a hardware list yet? We all like the hardware! LOL!

Well so far all I have is the tank/sump/stand.

On the way are 4 hydra 26s and the mounting brackets. I’ll probably need to upgrade my skimmer bc it’s a cheapie. Recommendations?

I have an apex cor 20 return pump, a couple 300w heaters in case one fails. Plan on getting the apex system and as many add Ons as possible to make this tank thrive with sps. I want this thing to be on a magazine cover.

I have a hydor ato but not sure if I will use or the built in float ato.

Still need to learn about refugiums and get a light for that.

My LFS gave me a $400 gift card to the store for livestock or rocks gave me to option to take that or an eshopps dosing system. Master/slave/and tank worth $575 according to their pricing. What would you advise I do being only 3-4 months into the hobby. Is it too early to start dosing and attempting sps?

it will be fish and coral. I have 6 fish in my 75. 2 basic clowns, bluejaw trigger, powder blue tang, diamond goby, striped blenny, and a bangaii cardinal.

Update: my 75 gal tank would SLIGHLY bounce when you walked past it so I decided to reinforce the flooring from the crawl space.
Not quite done I’m getting 2 more floor jacks for the back side of the 4x6 brace. So there will be 4 total. Dug the holes and poured 2 more footers.

Im thinking about getting the same tank. How is the quality of the stand

So I finally have a hardware list.

Purchased today:
Apex sr.
2 wavs and 2 modules
Probe rack

still to purchase:
Red Sea skimmer 600 (is that enough)
Also plan on getting 2 neptune Dos pumps
Not sure what dosing container (suggestions?)
Also will prob get a trident in the next 6 months.

Had trouble with the Red Sea metric plumbing. Ordered an adapter that hopefully helps.

Also pulled the rocks out of the 75g and hope my corals, shrimp and crabs can make it until the big tank is cycled.

Probably 150 lbs of rocks totals for the reefer 750

I have the Red Sea E-260 an the quality of the stand is EXCELLENT!! It's very beefy and has an epoxy coating that is easy to clean and will prevent water damage.

Here’s a pic of the finished floor supports

Set up my aquascape today. Didn’t really have a plan but I feel like I have plenty of space for corals and fish. Went a little off the reservation and made a little man that will hold some corals in each hand. He shall be named groot

How long did it take you to make that little man? And how many bottles of super glue? Lol

The tank is looking good!
