So just bought a new house and planning on red sea reefer 750 xxl and was just wondering if you guys thought 1 20 amp breaker would be enough to power everything I would need.. I tried to add up the amps but some things are in watts and volts and I'm not really sure how to convert it or whatever ... list of hardware is 3 x radion gen 4 xr30 pros , deltec 1455, varios 8, mp 60 , mp 40, , accel aquatics pellet reactor and 2 250 watt heaters .

A 20 amp circuit can handle 2400 watts of current. Is the tank the only thing that will be on this circuit? That's something that'll contribute to your max draw also.

Technically the circuits "shouldn't" have a planned use above 80% or 1920 watts for a 20 amp

Hey glad to see your getting another tank going. I love the 750 xxl. Nice set up.

I would run run two 15 amp circuits if you can. Gfci at the breaker. Put your return on one and your mps on the other. If one trips or faults you have water movement. You can even put a heater on either circuit for redundancy. I believe it will work with apex as well. You will just need 2 ebs.

Let me know when your cycled and ready for frags. I will have stuff I'll give you.

That's a friend right there! Keeps the reefing community strong :)

Hey man, didn't realize you were on here . Bought a house in eg not far from my apartment. I'm just trying to see what I need to do before I get this bad boy in. I sold all my stuff to healthy pet and just waiting to get the tank in . I was hoping one breaker would do the trick as my box is filled but I might be able to take some power from elsewhere . I have another breaker but it's across the house so I was trying to avoid having to make a mess and spend a lot more money that I don't have lol

Do you have any other large draw items that'll be on the circuit?

Congrats on the house. I would have to do the math to see if one 20 amp would work. I'll do some math tomorrow. Let me know if you need help moving stuff. That's gonna be a heavy tank.

I'm going to have nothing else but the tank stuff on that breaker . When im.ready I will definatley keep you in mind for when I have to get it home

Skimmer - 12 watts, Each XR30 Pro is ~190 max draw, varios is 98 watts, 2 heaters at 250, and the others are basically negligible. That's 1,180 watts max draw before the reactor, and power heads. I would say you have plenty of safety net ;)

awesome i just wanted to be sure and not have to fix it when the tank got here . now just need my slop sink installed into the garage with my ro unit and ill be good to go, thanks for replies
