red sea alk pro kit

So, I finally got my test kits in after some confusion with fedex. Watched the video on how to do the test, and my results are very strange. It says it should go from blue to purple to pink, but I go from blue to orange. I guess if you called that pink my alk is 7.7 but seems like it orange to me.

yeah, I'v heard that it doesn't really go all the way pink. even in the video, it doesn't really look pink. as long as it changes from blue to purple to another color.

As soon as you see a color change, I beleive thats whats your reading is.. Atleast thast how I do it.

Returned mine, couldn't come to a clear end point. Color blends very slowly with each drop. Where do you stop and read? Never saw red, only orange for me.

yea even the video it doesnt look pink...idk why they call it pink really..i will try again tomorrow and see what i come up with, maybe returning this kit tho too and trying something else

I had to go back to Salifert test kit....tried and true for me....I shouldn't have wasted money trying out the RS pro kit

I have both and seem to get pretty decent color change on the Red Sea pro. I really like only needing one hand to mix!!

while thats fancy and everything, its pretty foreign to me and sometimes idk if im actually squirting anything or not then sometimes i squirt too much and the color change is bad for me just preference though =)

I have the Red Sea alk test just the alk and ph, and it changes from clear to green. It used to change very faintly now I can't read it at all kinda disappointed, I thought I was upgrading over API test kits, but so far not impressed with Red Sea kits.

Wow! I've yet to hear so many having such trouble with this kit. I personally love it! Been using it for about a year now. Before that 2 years using the API.
I don't go by what color is spoken by others but by the matching of the color shown on the chart. It has worked great for me. As I see NO pink there-lol.

I prefer the salifert test kits. Its always very clear when the color change happens.
And now that you already have the red sea kits with the fancy titration vial holder you can just use that with the salifert solutions and have the one handed mixing.
