Red sea alk pro test kit help urgent...

It should be going from blue to orange. Something seems wrong about it not being blue to start with.

Might be something wrong with reagent mine never turns green , blue to a goldish and then orange

Basically you are looking for the solution to be not blue. As soon as you change to something that is red/orange/brown you are done. Doesn't matter what color it is, but if it is not blue then stop. Mine usually starts off a light blue, then as I add more turns darker eventually it has a really noticeable transition to an orange color that's when I stop.

With a titration like this you are typically looking more for a transition from one color to another rather than a specific end color.

That is why I switch to Hanna checked for Alk. The color change on the Red Sea is very difficult to notice , but if it keeps getting bluer after the first initial .4 ml than your Alk. Is probably pretty high around the 10 to 11 dkh. Mark, it takes a lot of time with that test for Red Sea , if you are seeing green that is possible an over dose of the reagent go very slow adding drop by drop and mix and see the results might be better.

This is correct.
I just re-familiarized myself with this kit. The color starts off blue then goes grayish blue then grayish pink. Stop. I usually note the amount of fluid used at this point, then add another drop or two to see if there was any major change.
The results matched my Hanna checker.

I'd recommend just getting the Hanna. Takes all guesswork out.
The new one doesn't even require any math.

Ya, blue, dark blue, then it turns dark green actually, then brown/orange

Hey thanks for posting up that email I have always had problems as well with this. So I let the girlfriend do it and then bought a Hannah. But this is real good info thanks again
