All,
I see a lot of posts about the Red Sea Reefer ATO, so I am glad I am not the only one confused. I have the 625 XXL and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong with the ATO.

There is the ATO tank, then the little nozzle next to the tank to adjust the flow, then the tube connecting to the float ball. It seems my ATO is always dripping from the little white nozzle next to the tank, regardless of the water level or position of the the float ball. Currently, the float ball is floating as the sump is more full than needed, but the water keeps dripping from the nozzle. What have I done wrong? Is the water even supposed to drip from here, or is it supposed to drip from down where the float ball is?

It almost seems like there might be a piece missing or lost in the nozzle to shut the drip off completely. I do have a thing to twist to make it drip faster or slower, but it does not seem possible to stop the drip completely.

Does anyone have any pictures of what the full ATO parts list should be and how this thing should work? The Red Sea instructions barely touch on it. I'm going crazy over here.

Thanks for your help.

John

Now that I look at it, the water is dripping from the top part of the nozzle rather than the bottom of the nozzle. It almost seems like I lost a washer or something. I'd really love to find a list of the ATO parts online.

Recently took mine of my reefer 250. Here's pics of the parts if that helps. There is a washer inside the drip control valve, you can see a bit of black thought the plastic.

I did some searching in R2R on this RS ATO and found this thread. I just had a Reefer 250 installed this week and I am also confused about this white screw valve coming from the ATO. I was told that turning the knob counter clockwise opens the valve but how far are you supposed to turn it?

I had mine pretty open, so long as it's not leaking from the valve being to loose it should be fine. And you dont want too slow a drip that can't keep up with the evaporation

It's useful during water change, can turn off ato.
