I know this has been discussed a million times but I was just curious how many of you are following and keeping your parameters according to RedSea chart recommendations and what are your overall experience.

Here's mine as of this morning

Ca: 490
Alk: 12.6
Mg: 1400
Phos: 0.05
Sg: 1.026

My zoas and LPS are pretty happy and growing, also my SPS seems to be happy as well.

I am just concern about the high readings, I was actually trying to lower my Ca to 420, Alk to under 8
Thinking I should stop dosing Kalk for now.

Anyone have a link to the "Red Sea Chart"? When I Google it, I get maps of the Red Sea...

Thank you biom.

Turns out they are Red Sea's "Recommended water parameters for accelerated coral growth" and "Recommended Water Parameters For Enhanced Coloration".

Your Ca seems fine. If anything, maybe your Alk could be near the 10-11 range. What salt do you use. If you use RSCP it mixes at 11 alk so its better to keep your tank alk at that level to avoid swings during water change. Do you dose alk or just kalk?

Thank you biom.

You're welcome :). But I would not recommend one to chase after their "parameters for accelerated coral growth". Levels of 0.1 PO4 and 12.6 dkH are pushing the limits (I would leave this to the professional coral propagators) . Actually anything between their enhanced color and accelerated growth recommendations is fine, but not the recommendations itself.:D
