Red Sea Circulation Pump Nozzle

Hi. I have a 20 gal salt water tank. I took it about to clean it. When I try to reinstall the circulation pump nozzle assembly, it is not flush against the tank. I am not sure it ever was but it does not make sense that it wouldn’t be. Is there a trick to reinstalling it. Thank you.

I would check to make sure you installed it correctly. Ours doesn't stick out like that.
