Red Sea Coral Pro Mixing

I’ve been using Red Sea Coral Pro and just saw a video saying to not heat the water before mixing and that I should only keep the mixing pump running long enough for the water to get clear.

My fresh RODI water sits in the garage so...just to get this straight my salt mixing steps would look like this?

Turn on pump
Add salt
Turn off pump once completely mixed
Turn on heater till up to correct temp

I didn’t do the heat the water thing.

Yup. Heating the saltwater during the salt mixing could remove some important elements.

My mixing station is also in the garage, I've been concerned about the garage temp when it gets warm and also when winter rolls back around, how have you handled the impact of ambient temps around your mixing station(s)?

I've been using coral pro for about a year now. I heat it as it's mixing. My tank is healthy and happy.

If you do not get substantial precipitation of calcium carbonate, there's no concern. If you do, you can always consider adding a little soda water to lower the pH on the next batch.

I've been using coral pro for about a year now. I heat it as it's mixing. My tank is healthy and happy.

Keep in mind that the typical water change is only 10%. You aren't getting a load of trace elements from this and should be supplementing with a dosing regiment. If you burn off some during the mixing stage it shouldn't result in a major impact (in my experience).
