red sea coral pro salt question. need help

im starting to use red sea coral pro salt now and the mixing instructions are based on grams/weight, they dont give how many cups etc. i ordered a scale to get a more precise amount but i need to do a water change tonight and dont know how much salt to put in till i get my scale. i really need to do a water change tonight. its about 5 gallons worth. if anyone has any advice or uses this salt that would be greatly appreciated.

okay cool thats what i needed to know. you would think they would put the amount in cups also on the back lol

That's just a go by that will get you close. Obviously, you'll need to check it to make sure it's where you want it before you use it.

McArcher is right - you'll defiantly want to measure/check it before using it. I also used sea coral pro slat for a while, and found it worked best when mixed in cool/cold water. It made it less cloudy and cleared pretty quick.

Of course, I'm from the Phoenix area, where summers are pretty warm, so "cool/colder" might be relative term.

yea ive got my reefractometer to test it with. i keep mine around 1.25 so ill probably do a tad less. thanks for the info.

Just bought the Red Sea coral pro blue bin from brs. Anyone know how long it will last closed? I am a few months away from using it like 3-4 months.

You will be good just keep it dry and roll the bucket around before you start using it. Fwiw some of the trace elements might sink to the bottom of the bucket.
