So i am really considering ditching my filter socks and switching to the red sea roller mat one. Big question i have that i cannot find an answer to though is can i run 2 drains into it? My tank has 2 drain lines, currently each run into there own filter sock. If i remove socks and i run both lines into the roller? Either both into a Y fitting then into the roller OR each line runs into it on each side of the roller (its has a hole on each side that go into it.
Not sure how to set it up if i got it???

I don't see why you couldn't connect up both sides but the kit only comes with one hose. Not a particularly big problem although I do not know what the fitting is on the flexible pipe.

I have a bubble magus fleece roller and I have the ability to remove the drain port and put it on the other side, I'm sure red sea may have thought of it too, fingers crossed, if not the y adapter should work.

I made the switch about 8 months ago and have not regretted the move at all, no more sock changes and costs less now as the roll on my fleece lasts near on two months, happy fish, happy corals and happy me less work and the skimmer will significantly reduce the amount of crud it pulls out the water too because its all on the roll. Make the change you won't regret it, just have an angry wallet for a while when buying it.

Stupid question about fleece rollers: do they smell? I can imagine them getting extremely funky with fish waste and left over food and saltwater and algae.

Neither the ClariSea nor the Reefmat have created a noticeable odor for my tank. Would be a deal breaker if they had. I will never ever use filter socks again.

Haha I've actually never used filter socks. I refuse. Too much work. Filter floss isn't as good, but it's far less work. Good enough.
