I’m a new reefer and just got my Red Sea 425 wet last weekend. I got the Deluxe that came with their LED90 lights. The preset options are 100% Blue with varying white percentages. They all see too blue to me visually, no experience yet to see the effect on corals.

Curious to hear what settings other users are running.

Running mine for 2weeks based on the 20k settings but with the channels tuned down by 30%. Not too blue compared to the 23k settings.

I'm just planning my photoperiod. I think I'm going to do deep blue for an hour or two at sunrise and sunset. And then do 23k throughout the day. How long is your photoperiod?

Im running 12hrs with only 5hrs at peak- 70% blues 35% whites.

Since I had no experience, I kept searching online and found someone claiming success with this schedule. My fist and only coral (Hammer) seems to like it.

in a similar boat. Got my first reef tank, a 350 Deluxe, a couple months ago and have no basis of comparison. Would love to know what experienced folks would run these at.

I have a red Sea 250 and based on the BRS videos on these lights, they're pretty much perfectly rated for par at full blast on a red Sea tank. 100 par at the bottom low 300s at the top of of you use the mounts for them. One of the reasons I got them is so I don't have to fiddle with the par meter and mount height.

It's quite a forgiving system, since the spectrum is all good as long as you are making slow changes.

I run basically similar to the 20k program. I ramp up to about 80 blue and then a period of 100 blue middle day.

My white ramps up/down slower as I like to have the different viewing experiences at the start and tail with heavy blues.

If your tank is new and prone to algae, dial back the whites.

The acclimation program is a great feature. I started at peak 70 and ramped up to 100 over 60 days.

But I've moved to hybrid with a bank of T5s as well for the best spread since have a reefer 170 and only one LED 90 for spread. So the led program is a for peak intensity as well as used for the best visuals at different times of day. My tank is now SPS dominant.

I've added a hammer and just switched to this. It's been not opening for a week now. Where is your placement?
