I see people wanting to buy replacement Red Sea vials. The magnesium ones quickly cloud over due to the reaction of the chemicals sticking on the glass. I tried soaking in vinegar and then citric acid to no avail.
However, a bit of improvisation with my Dremel type tools using a small wire wirn down brush did the trick in seconds.
Nice shiny vial again and no scratches to be seen.

What are you going to do with that $4 you saved? :winking-face-with-tongue:

Good advice, thank you, and as for the small amount of saving, well lots of people saving lots of glass vials and plastic lids means lots less waste for the environment and oceans we're supposed to be saving, every little bit helps and makes a difference :star-struck: so thanks for letting us know.

I just leave the vial filled with vinegar between tests.
It's always clean after a rinse before use.

My other Red Sea vials are all clean it's just the magnesium one that gets this coating. I have been told after rinsing to fill.itvwith RO and leave it in until the next time I use it.
