Red Sea Max 130D - skimmer help

I've got a 6 month RSM130D setup. My question is on the skimmer. It produces plenty of skim BUT somewhere bubbles are escaping the skimmer and of course making their way to the return pump and into the tank. None of the inhabitants are bothered ( fish and corals ) but it's annoying as heck to the point I only run the skimmer at night...

The collection cup seems to have a pretty good fit. I've taken the skimmer out and the pump connection seems pretty tight...

Any ideas???
