I rent the top three floors of a very old house with narrow, steep stairs and narrow living space to match it (only 4m/13ft wide). So due to size constraints/weight concerns I thought that the Red Sea Max-170 would be a good tank to go with since I think taking on the challenge of a nano is a bit much but I don't want to risk getting something much bigger and causing damage to my wood floors.
Although recently renovated, the house is still over a hundred years old and I am just a tenant, not the owner, so I don't have permission to reinforce the floor. Plus when I inevitably move out, any tank bigger than this is going to be an absolute nightmare to remove because it will have to be taken out/put in through a window.
I know they always say to get the biggest tank you can afford so what I want to know is if this size (170L/45gal) is forgiving for beginner reefers? Thanks for taking the time to read this.
