Hey guys. Had my 70 gallon red sea up almost a year. I was wondering if I can go an upgrade to an in cabinet sump upgrade without draining the tank as I beed the tank to remain up and running

Why do you think you need to drain the tank to install a Filter Tank (sump) under it?

I can think of no reason at all unless you need to move the tank or drill it for overflow/returns but those should already be present in your tank.

so the plugs for the pump are directly under the tanks chamber in the back. If they are opened then I assumed the water would start poring out of the holes?

will those plugs drain the entire tank, or just that chamber? I use standpipe overflows on my tank, with sump filter, almost always a way to prevent having to drain the tank, sometimes as simple as putting pvc pipe into the inside of tank into bulkhead to create a Stand Pipe tall enough to stick out above water line.

Looking closer at it Im pretty sure if I drain the back chamber I should be okay to do the upgrade
