Hi everyone, i am about 10 weeks into having my first tank and i cannot for the life of me get the skimmer to stop overflowing like crazy. there is an air valve that i have just about completely shut (the more it is open the faster the water flows out) and on the other side of the skimmer is a slider system thats is almost all the way down (the higher i lift it the faster the water flows out). i have heard it just needs to break in since it is a new tank but i have had it running now for a few weeks and cannot get it close to bubble the way it should. Has anyone experienced this or know a solution? i can post pics if it would be helpful as well. thanks in advance!! oh also i have a bunch of cyano algae built up in the pat 2 weeks and it is not going away. my amonia, nitraite and nitrate levels are good, i have a chromis, a royal gramma basslet, and some small zoas that a frien gave me to get things started. anything i should be doing to clear this us or is this still a "new tank thing". thanks again guys!!
