Red Sea Max E 170 water levels

For those that currently run a Red Sea MaxE 170 where is the best place to put the ATO optical sensor and at what level? I have it set right now however I can hear a lot of splashing from the overflow so I'm not sure if I should raise the level a bit or not.

Can you be more specific. there shoudl be a valve - that you can use to adjust the ''splashing noise'
I.e. is it bubbles, is it 'splashing' (thats a different thing

I had the same problem for a while and for me it seems keeping the level right above the return line bulkhead on the back glass works best for the skimmer.
