I dont have a redsea but i do have sumps and i dont turn it off to feed.

I have the E-260 with sump. My return pump is a Vectra S1 set at 9 (LEDs lit) and I only tune off the 2 circulation pumps in the main tank when I feed.

The Vectra S1 which I also own has a maximum flow of 1400 GPH. Therefore if you have it set at 9 lights it would equate to approximately 1050 GPH. My Reefer 250 has 54 gallons in the DT and 11 gallons in the sump and has a recommended flow of 660 GPH. Your E-260 has 56 gallons in the DT and 12 gallons in the in cabinet sump.
The RS support staff had me lower the setting on my S1 from 9 to 6 lights which is approximately 700 GPH so you may consider lowering the setting on your S1 as I think it may be too powerful.

Actually, with that setting, I have decent flow in my tank, (mixed SPS, LPS), the flow from the return hits the front glass and turns turbulent. Also, you have to consider the head height. With the E-260, from the sump it's around 4 feet. All my corals are pretty happy with the flow I have.
