Hi all,

I'm about 3 to 4 weeks into the cycle of the tank. Since the tank was set up foam was rising up the neck of the rear protein skimmer into the collection cup.

Yesterday I added some bacteria balls into the rear sump and restarted the skimmer. Since then I have noticed that the foam is only really at the base of the neck and even if I bring the adjuster all the way to the top the foam only rises slightly to the lower/middle part of the neck.

Is this OK or should it be like it was before? If so is it worth taking out the whole skimmer and checking for any issues?

When I have issues with my Red Sea Max skimmer, its typically because the air inlet is clogged (where the pump joins the air line tubing area). It clogs easily and reduces foam production from what i've seen.

I've just played around with the air inlet and have twisted the white plastic cap which seems to have done the trick as the foam is rising again.
