Hi, So i bought the Red Sea Max nano set up from someone else and i noticed he 3d printed this parts, My question is: since he removed the sock filter how do i use this 3d printed filter now?
also it came with the Innovative marine HelioPTC 100w Heater. what would be the proper position for the heater and the thermostat?

Filter floss in the basket would work. The heater works in any position.
Awsome, thanks for the info @blaxsum
so it wouldnt be a problem if i put the heater and thermostat in the same place? or would it be better to put the thermostat in the front and heater in the back?

With the IM Helio heater it is very important you put the heater and sensor in the same place. Otherwise when you shut down the pump to feed you can get an out of range error and the heater will shut down as a safety.
Oh didnt think of it , thanks man. learning something new day by day . appreciate all the help

The filter basket is designed to hold bio media. The screen sits on top then a square of filter floss on top of that which can be replaced easily rather than having to wash socks.

I have a Helio system as well and I have the thermostat close to the heaters.

What media is recommended to put in for a new tank ?

Anything that has a high surface area for bacterial colonisation something like Seachem matrix for example
