I am going to install a Tunze 3155. I am tired of the manual valve always needing work. I bought this setup for my Nuvo 20 and LOVE it. My question is - I want to use the reservoir in the back lower of the tank (the original one). My fear is if something happens, I could siphon up to 7 gallons out. Now, the chances are smaller, but if you knew me I am starting with a 1 in 2 chance of this happening. Is there a way for me to set this up to prevent any siphoning from happening? Unless I am thinking wrong, a check valve won't work in this application as the flow is backwards to make the valve function properly. Thoughts?

The problem is that the tank is 2 feet above the fill valve. So if something happens to the fill valve (stuck open) or the tube comes off the fill valve, up to 7 gallons will dump into the sump. I am not sure of a way to plumb this to prevent this.

OK, so for any who searches this and has a similar question, here is what I did. I took a 5g bucket and set up my Tunze 5017 pump (glued in place). I took the float valve assembly from the sump and installed it on the lid of the container and ran the black water line from the tanks reservoir to the float switch. I removed the black tube and adjuster cap and replaced it with a 90 degree murlock fitting that was threaded on one side. I then filled the bucked up with RO and filled the reservoir up with RO as well. Now the 7.5g reservoir feeds the bucket when the float valve drops. I will only need to service the tank's reservoir, so I pushed the bucket way in the back of my cabinet as I won't have to access that for much, unless something happens with the pump or float. So now I have 12G of RO on reserve. I also installed a murlock shut off switch right before the bucket. I think it came out cool. I'll be checking for leaks over the next 24 hours.
