Red Sea max S500 stand issues

Hi. I recently purchased a used s500 aquarium. I noticed after removing the aquarium from the stand that the corrugated plastic top that the tank sits on is damaged on both front corners (left side worse than the right). I contacted Red Sea and they are unwilling to sell me a replacement. What can I do for this. I do know the previous owner was using it in this condition. The photos are of the worst side.

The current Red Sea 750 has a plywood deck with a thin levelling mat. Personally...and there will be disagreement, I would replace plastic by plywood.
 
See if you can find a new stand on ebay or message boards? You can put a WTB ad here too. Did you talk to Mr. Chien at Red Sea? He may be able to swing something for you.
 
I would see about getting 3/4 inch "marine" plywood. You can't get marine plywood at Lowes. Its expensive but you can find it and its water proof. Seal it and paint it. Should be good.
