red sea or Waterbox

What you are doing is the reason I will not buy a red sea aquarium. I like their aquariums but that is where it ends. The sump, stand and ATO are deal killers for me. Why am I going to pay for stuff I am not going to like or use and then put out a bunch more money buying equipment that I do want.

I have the Red Sea Reefer 350 and I generally love it. I will admit that I am in the process of re-doing all the plumbing under the tank. As I have grown in the hobby I wanted to change the sump around. The Red Sea stock set up does not have much to offer there. I am really into the refugim and I still wanted a protein skimmer so I'll be getting a TS-26 from synergy reef. Thanks to @Broadfield and @Kryssie I know what I need to do so. Just need everything to come in. I'll be posting a build thread next Saturday. All in all I love the look of the tank. So I would say go with the red sea and prepare to mod it up as you see fit. Oh one last thing, I did not like the ATO that came with the tank. That's another story though.

Thanks for the shout out! I can’t wait to see your build thread!

We get it. You have some agenda against tank manufactures like Red Sea and WaterBox, Can you give it a rest?
So it’s been over a year since this discussion and I’m starting to see a lot of Red Sea aquarium failures, stands falling apart, big tanks seams separating and failing. Wonder why this is happening? Think it could be because of press wood?

So the only real failures are with there 750XXLs, there aren't any reports of any other sizes failing. And the tanks that are failing DO NOT have press board cabinets. The reason why it's happening has been hammered to death in a couple other threads. The 750XXL cabinet was not designed properly to handle the weight of the aquarium over the length of the sump compartment. This has led to sagging stands and failing tanks but only with the 750s.

A Facebook post on Red Sea group. Just saying.

Another Facebook on Red Sea group and it’s a RS 170. Just saying.

Yep, some owners have reported seeing the same front cross member sag (gap) on smaller tanks like the RSR250 and RSR350.
