I was talking to the owner of my LFS, and showed me a custom made Red Sea overflow filter silencer. He sparked the idea...I took the idea and ran with it. I haven't been able to find anything like it in the forum, so I decided to post it for my fellow DIYers who are looking for a project.

I have a new 625 XXL. Below is a silencer I built for the tank. The dimensions are 9.25" x 15.50". The overflow pipes are custom made modeled after @Whip 750xxl build (although the manifold is not done). I'm running high flow using a Varios 8 pump running at 80%. Due to this setup, the filter socks are a bit loud. The Red Sea tanks makes more noise than I expected. This set up helps quiet things down a bit.

I used my wife's silhouette to cut out the Red Sea logo in vynal. Because I do not like a waste, I used the negative to label the DIY ATO reservoir I built. If you have any questions about the projects, please let me know. Photos are the provide the community with ideas. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. If you have any ideas to make this better please feel free to comment!!!

Thanks for sharing. Made of acrylic I guess? How much noise reduction would you say? My wife complains about my reefer in the living room

Yeah, it's made of acrylic. The total cost was $2.50. I have an acrylic shop in town that sells remnant pieces for next to nothing.

I would say this is very helpful in cutting back the noise. The overflow is where all of my noise comes from inside the cabinet. It also helps keep the salt splash off of the inside of the door, definitely worth the cheap investment.
