Red Sea Reef Coral Color Program

Not precise but I've ran the Red Sea Coral Colors and Energy in several tanks for a few years. I also have done so with BRS Cal, Alk, and Mag.. I always start out small and dose once per week and slowly increase slightly to where I feel I am getting good results and then I just stay constant... Currently my main Tank is getting 40ML of each once per week and its total water volume is roughly 300 gallons. I also have a 34 Gallon that gets 5ML of each once per week. I feel these numbers are sufficient for my intake and tanks. My DT is currently getting 170ML of Cal and Alk daily and 90ML of Mag daily. I also run high nutrient PH.04, and NO3 40-60, high alk (9.5-10), high light 4 radion gen 3 pro, 4 80w T5, high flow ( 3 MP60, 1 MP40, 2 Gyre 230s) in my DT. SPS dominant, fish overloaded, and decent zoa garden... with handful of LPS.

Great Point.

It did take awhile for my reef told handle the Reef Energy dose that I'm at now. If you see gray on your live rock then you need to cut back and play it on the safe side with the colors program.

Have you had good results with the Reef Energy and the the Colors program?

Yes, I agree take it slow. I would increase ML about 1 per week on the DT and on my smaller tanks i'd dose 1ML/week for several weeks and then dose 2ML for several weeks, and so on.. I am also very aware and watch every coral for its reactions/signs of anything changing with the exception of my zoas.. if they are open fully extended thats all i really notice.. i don't pay particular attention to how fast or slow they are growing as some grow faster than others.. But I always notice new growth, polyp extension and coloration on my SPS which is what matters most to me.. As long as they are all colored up and extending polyps I'm happy.

Also worth noting is I don't do water changes anymore.. I did one 60 gallon water change this past year, and maybe a few gallons here and there with drip acclimations. My Salinity is 1.025.

I can see why you can get away from water changes and someone asked me awhile back if I stopped.
I'm too much old school and do a 18% weekly water change and it lets me suck out any detritus from my bare bottom.

You've got your rhythm and I've got mine. :) Many ways to skin a cat.
