Red Sea Reef Energy and Skimmer

I just started dosing Reef energy. I turn my skimmer off for an hour and when I turn it on I have to re-tune it. It pumps out way to many bubbles.

Is this suppose to happen? Its sort of a hassle.

Parameters are on par.

Of course it does. Its liquid nitrates. If you dont have 0 nitrates, I wouldnt use it.

Well I don't use it all the time only after water changes. I have a issue with nitrates so after water changes it takes 2-3 days to get my levels back. So this helps the levels sooner. I just adjust the air valve.

I just started using the reef energy A and B, every other day (2mL/100 liters), but do not turn off skimmer. I do not use any other supplements like Ca, Mg, etc. My tank mainly LPS, 120 gallon system. Am I doung this wrong? This was suggested by my LFS

There is directions on the red sea kit. I would go by those and tweak from there. If I used it everyday my nutrient levels would be to high. You want to test po3 and po4 to make sure your not over loading the system with nutrients.

I'm doing 4 ml of each to my 75g. I wait between 1-2 hrs and still get an overflow.

Phosphate is 0 and nitrate is low

Is your skimmer dc by chance?

If I'm not mistaken it should be 1mL of each part for every 25 gallons. If your tank is a 75 gallon with rock and sand displacing the water, you could be very well over dosing it. Lets say you have a 75 gallon tank and you are displacing 20 gallons thus taking your actual water volume to 55 gallons, you are doubling the dose. Try cutting the dosage down to 2mL of each part a day and see how that goes for you.

It depends on the corals being kept.. op stated mainly lps is kept so that would be 2ml/100L.
