I have a hard time maintaining stable ALK, or so I thought. I just got a salifert ALK test in today since my Red Sea titration kit is nearly gone. I measured using both tests tonight, Red Sea measured 9dKH and the salifert read 11.95 dKH.

The Red Sea always seemed to show swings that didn't make sense. The calcium too.

I don't know what to believe anymore!

I have never used the Salifert alk.
The Red Sea Pro alk and cal have always been good for me.

I did get a bad Red Sea Pro cal refill for the first time (Ever) but my new refill is spot on.

If you use the RSP mag then I'd suggest going with the Salifert mag. The RSP mag would give myself readings up to 100-ppm too high.

Sure you red sea isnt expired?

I just went to find my testing the other day before sending off a triton. used the hanna check 7.4, salifert 7.7 , redsea 7.6.

my redsea isnt the orange color like i see in videos, its a brown tint color card and the water hits a tint of blue to brown i stop. (guessing new redsea kit)

Yes,
RedSeaKev says.. to stop at the color change endpoint and they really need to update that old video.

It's not expired. I do always return my unused titration reagent to the bottle. Is that a no no?
