so the tubing on the reefer 170 is 5/8 inch id tubing and 3/4 od supposedly however their website states is is confusing, any pump suggestions that arent expensive and maybe dc, ive tried like 4 of these jebaos their fittings are trash and you cant buy any adapters for it.
thanks

I really like the Current D/C pumps. I have one for my 75g. They are pretty cheap too.

I use a DC pump Sicce 6.0 but its not cheap. Very nice though. I also changed the fittings and tubing for the pump return to 3/4" ID. You can buy the red sea fitting that the tubing connects to. It can be taken apart and a new larger barb or hard connection can be added. The 3/4 return I needed because I take off a portion of the flow for UV and media reactor.

I run in lagoon mode (slow variable speed) at 70%

I use a Reef Octo Various 2 for return on my 170. It's been about a year with no issues whatsoever.

Im looking to upgrade the return pump on my redsea170, I think I may get the VarioS-2, did you have to buy an adapter or did the green silicone tube has a good fit on the return pump?
