Red Sea Reefer 170 Powerheads

I know I can change this later w/o issues but trying to decide on Powerhead(s) for my RS Reefer 170.

Options I'm considering:

- 2 Aqamai KPS's
- 1 MP10
- 1 Nero 5

My main goal is to have some level of control via an app (don't have an Apex) but, importantly , get full coverage. Also, planning on mostly LPS but some SPS.

Thoughts?

I like the looks of these.

I have a MP40 and the only issue is have had is the magnets crack on the wet side and have to be replaced. You will also need a reef link to connect to the ecotech products.

Yea, that's my choice right now. I do like using the same app to control the lights and the powerhead. Just hope one(1) will provide full coverage.

I do. I have the 170 Deluxe model.

I really like the aquami. I have one on my 170 hoping I get another for Christmas. The best part for is the wide angle that and the ease of making adjustments. You can get two for less than half of the other guys! I have had mine for a couple weeks now and only complaint I have is having to connect to it everytime I want to change it but that only takes 10 seconds and Once it’s set I don’t have to make any changes so not much to complain about

Thanks Wayne. They do look nice. I also like the directional capabilities of them.

Also it’s insane how small they are vs. there out put. We have farm chickens and the eggs we get from them are bigger than the PH. Which is crazy because brown farm eggs are quite a bit smaller than “normal” white ones in the supermarket. We are kinda limited with PH placement on out 170’s with the shape of the back wall. Get one or two of these save yourself a lot of money for some livestock that’s the fun part.

I went with a tunze 6055 mostly because I wanted to have options for battery backup. I ended up with a 35ah battery that should run for a good 30 hours.
