Red sea reefer 170 water level how to?

hi there

so i am just about to file my new tank with water and i want to know if there is a way that i can file the tank so my water level in the tank and sump will be where it need to be?

I would just fill it up until it overflows into the sump and continue to fill until the sump level in the return section is at level of the float then turn on the return pump and add more water until you get to the same level
