Hello everyone! I am in the process of cycling my first reef aquarium after many years of keeping freshwater fish (discus and Tanganyikan cichlids if there are any fans out there). As the subject notes, I have a reefer 250; I bought the deluxe edition that included two red sea LED lights and the mounting arms.

So my question, which is probably dumb, is how far apart should I space the two lights? Should the mounting arms be placed right next to the overflow box? A couple of inches away from the overflow box? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I want to make sure I have the optimum light coverage when the time comes to turn them on. Thanks!

I have the same lights on a 350. I kind of cheated and place them according to the assembly instructions for the Red Sea DIY net cover. It gives you detailed instructions for the distances between light mounts.
Optionally, it is up to you and depends on both the aquascape you plan in doing and the types of corals you want to keep.
