Anyone who is running a red sea reefer 250 have any issues with getting a pump to not vibrate all the time? im using the hose to a ball valve then to the tank and its got a constant vinration noose thats making me want to tear the tank down. At first i thought it was a pump issue however i am on my second sicce syncra silent and already tried a jebao that did the same thing so im sure its not a pump issue now. It still makes the sound when i suspend the pump off the bottom of the sump. Could it just be that the return section is too small and the pump is to close to the walls? Any input or help would be greatly appreciated as its driving me nuts.

It's not the pump - it's the plumbing. I have the same issue with Sicce SDC 9 on my Red Sea 750XXL. The vibration is travelling up and being resonated through the return outlet piping. Nothing works - tried cleaning, different positions, new components, silicon pas, etc.

On the plus side, with the dehumidifier running - I can't hear it now. ;)

Well im glad im not the only one then, thanks for the reply. I guess on a plus side for me I have a spare return pump if anything ever happens to the one.

I think the vibration may be coming from the bulkheads in my tank. I'm happy with how tight they are, so I'm not really inclined to start screwing around with them on the off chance it will fix the "hum".

I had the Reefer 250 stock plumbing from a Coral Box DCA4000 pump and couldn't hear it. I can hear the skimmer over it which is a essence 130. I changed out to a COR15 with hard pipe from the pump to a 8 inch section of the original green hose. If I am in the stand I can hear the COR vibrating running at 30% much more than I could hear the other pump. Can't really hear it at a couple feet away. Coral Box pump really impresses me.
