You can use any heater with it just set it just above where you want the heat at and let the controller turn it on and off.

Welcome. I have a reefer 250 as well.
Good call on the mp10, mp40 was way too much. I have one now but will eventually add another. If you havent picked a pump yet i suggest a DC model that is controllable so you can really dial it in. I have the sicce Synacra SDC 7.0 and its WAY too much flow when cranked up but I can run it around 25% and its about perfect. It will out pump the overflow cranked anywhere near 50%. Lighting is pretty much what you like best these days. Mine came with the two Hydra 26's and i run a lot of other AI lights and I'm happy with them. I ran about 60Lbs of rock and in my opinion its a lot of rock. But all depends on the shape and density of your rock as well. heres a link to build thread.
