Is this a new setup? Has it been working ok before? Have you checked the water level in the weir? Have you followed the instructions on adjusting the water level using the valve on the down pipe in the sump?

It’s a second hand set up I’ve only put tap water in to see if the plumbing was all good and it is. Just that now it’s the gurgling.

I find it easiest to open it a bit too far and then gradually close it until you get the water level where you want it.
