Red Sea reefer 350 skimmer

Looking for a skimmer for a Red Sea reefer 350. Now I'm currently comparing the deltec sca 1351 or the skimz sm 163. I'm not looking for something too big as I want a small foot print. But please feel free to share any thoughts on the two or even something else. I know there isn't one that's the best but I have yet to have both brands.

Also keep in mind I'm looking for a skimmer properly sized for the 350 with a medium to high demand but I don't need a skimmer that I can also upgrade with as a upgrade won't be coming lol

I run the 1456 (big brother to the 1351) on my 525 reefer and find it to be a really nic esimple skimmer that doesnt really need to be messed with at all. I cant speak to the skimz, as Ive never run that brand, but the Deltec is well within the realm of exceptable, if not golden. The only complaint Ive heard about the Deltecs are that the air draw is low in comparision to other skimmers of the same size. But if you arent looking to overload the system or really oversize the skimmer, then air draw shouldnt be a concern of yours. Ive run mine for 8 months with no problem, and I really appreciate the ease in which the skimmer comes apart for cleaning. Its literally one screw. I prefer the DC version myself, as I was able to let it run slower upon break in period so I didnt splash water everywhere in the sump compartment - but otherwise its been pretty much set and forget.

Tunze 9410 DC would work. I used to run a Deltec SC1351. The Tunze is much much quieter.

Sounds good. I think my concern with deltec is replacement parts and having to wait lol

I've been thinking about the Nyos as well. It's gorgeous!

I did LOTS of research. I'm on disability with LOTS of time. It's even better in person. Obviously I can't talk too much since I got it all of an hour ago, but it's a seriously nice skimmer.

I thought that over as well and everything I read says you can't go too big. I hope to upgrade someday and would rather not buy another skimmer. As long as you have the room, go bigger. It takes up little space because of the pump being in the cone.
