Hey reefers just wanna get some idea how you guys have your flow set up in your tanks what type of power heads and how many and flow settings. On a 4ft tank lps/softies

2 mp40’s low settings. my tank is mostly sps though
when i had softies and lps dominated 1 mp40 was enough

Sorry, I dont use the app for configuration. But the basic idea is to have pump A on a 20-45% pulse that lasts 0.7 sec and pump B alternating off of pump A so that when A winds down, B ramps up. This kind of set up moves water everywhere. LPS and SPS love it

Look into the VCA Random Flow Generators. I added 2 of the 1/2 inch ones on my RSR XL 425 and love them. I also have gyres on each side. My tank is acro dominant and have plenty of random flow.

What kind of flow settings did you end up with? I'm tinkering with my MP40s on my 425XL. Currently I run the following but I seem to have a couple dead spots along the back that I want to try to fix.

12:00 - 6:00 a.m. - Constant @ 50%
6:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Reefcrest @ 50%
12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Constant @ 35%
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Gyre @ 30%
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Reefcrest @ 35%
9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. - Reefcrest @ 50%
