525XL, four years running without problem, but couple months ago I noticed silicon separation in the front top left corner, approximately 1 inch long from the top edge. Then week ago it just went down another 2". Tank is still not leaking.

What I am concerned the most is total loss and having 100 gallons of water on my living floor. How serious/urgent is this?

Am I the only one with such fault? Is there anything that I can do, other than taking this thank down?

Red Sea offered replacement tank for half the price plus shipping.

Thanks

I would be transferring everything into rubber maids and be looking for a new tank ASAP. Just my opinion. I wouldn’t risk it.

If there was one point of separation that never grew I would be mildly concerned. To see it grow a couple inches in the span of a week is something to address immediately. It will likely continue to grow rapidly until the point of failure. It's a risk/reward thing, as you said.. nobody wants 100 gallons of water on the floor.
