So today I am busy making RODI water so as soon as that is done I can mix my saltwater. I have a 100 gpd RODI unit, and that worked fine with a 80 gallon, but it is taking forever to make all this water LOL!

So I bought two surge protectors that has individual shut off switches for the plugs, and my husband will mount them in the cabinet. Also I bought two 300 watt heaters also. I use a temp controller on my current tank, so I will use it on the new one after my old tank is taken down. Also my husband put together a cabinet to store my fish stuff.... acclimation containers, seaweed sheets, test kits etc. The Red Sea stand has limited storage space. So this cabinet works great.

Ok....we have been busy tonight! We mounted our electrical surge protectors, and drilled a hole in the floor so we can pump both RODI water and saltwater from the basement. My mixing station and RODI unit is in the basement. We tested it with a utility pump we bought and it works! Yea!! No more carrying heavy 5 gallon water jugs up from the basement every week!!!! Plus we have a pump we will sit in the sump to pump water down stairs too! Thanks for following me in this journey!!! [emoji16]

Hi there, just caught up on this build being new to the site, how have you found the tank being so close to direct sunlight with those beautiful windows please?
I only have space for this size tank next to a large window hence my question.

Ditch the top off system. It’s the weakest point of the system.

Make sure you position your sump carefully. Depending on any magnetic mounts for probes or float switches, Red Sea just doesn’t give much room beneath that stand.

What lighting? Again, the stand. Sump side is sealed and allows little airflow from outside the stand. My t5’s rum warm and even with a fan and 2 computer fans pulling In fresh air I have to leave the doors open to keep temps below 79.

Good luck and make sure to level all the feet before yiu fill it. You may have to reach areas that require you to lift the stand.
