Looking for anyone that has built a DIY canopy or some sort of top for a RSR. I have some wrasse and need to keep them at bay. Still at least 45-60 days out on moving fish from QT to DT. I know a big part of the beauty of the RSR is the (in my case 3/4" glass with the 750 XXL) rimless top. I am trying to come up with something that is fitting for the ultra sleek factory look!

Artfully Acrylic makes some super nice lids which are pretty much not visible when looking directly at the tank. That's what I use. It does take 5 weeks to get one, so if that's what you want order it soon.

Red Sea just announced their own lid, decent looking also. Not sure when those are dropping on the shelves tho.

Thanks I will check it out!

He’s also asking about a canopy option to hide the lights, anyone made a canopy for a reefer series?

Where did you see the light question? I missed it.

I don’t see the point of getting a rimless tank and covering it with a canopy. Rimmed tanks are much more suited for that.
I’m good friends with the op, and he asked about canopy in the title ;)

It’s all a matter of taste, it’s a handsome setup either way! :)

I gotcha, that makes sense. Even with a canopy, you need a net cover. You don’t need them awesome wrasses jumping into the lights.

Agreed!

BRS 1/4" clear screening, Innovative marine rimless top clips, white screen kit from home depot. Cheap to make, easy to use, looks decent for a rimless lid.
It's not really as reflective in person as the camera is showing.
