So I am working on finally assembly of my reefer 450

Why is my emergency drain lower then my primary? How will water ever get to primary if it’s taller then the emergency?

What did I do wrong here?

Thanks

Also

How far is the stand pipe suppose to go into the silencer?

I see there is a little lip inside the silencer

Does it fit up until
The lip or just rest on top?

I am not 100% sure exactly where the holes are on the main drain, but the main drain does not drain from the top of the silencer so water should never reach the top. As far as the silencer install goes, it just sits on top of the main drain.

Hope that helps.

Edit: To clarify a bit, the main drain itself should be lower than the emergency before you put the silencer on. The silencer allows water in from the bottom, (I believe) not the top so as long as the main drain is actually below the emergency it should be fine.

I mixed mine up and had the emergency on the return and the emergency was lower. I could not see your pictures so double check they are in the right order. Just be careful screwing and unscrewing the pipes it’s like they break just looking at them very delicate. Worst comes to worst please call Red Sea they will help you and if it is a defect they can catch it right them and send you new stuff.

I have measured the pipes.

I have the emergency in the middle and the primary on the right.

Is the water supposed to flow over the top of the silencer or up from under it???

The water will never reach the top of the silencer since the emergency is much lower than the top of the silencer. It has to flow from the bottom.
