Red Sea Reefer or Waterbox?

How long have you had your SCA 120?
Do you have the canopy?
Do you have the pine stand or the birch stand?
I have had it now for 2 months, I got the black solid wood stand with steel reinforced beams. I didn’t get the canopy.

Any pics?
How was the included plumbing?
How are the seams of the tank?

I will take some close up pictures tonight, the plumbing included was fine, it didn’t have the coupling for the strainer on herbie drain. The seams looked perfect.

That looks real good!
The valve you have. Was that supplied with the tank plumbing?
Is that the SCA sump?

Also, did yours come with a leveling mat for the tank? Leveling mat for the sump?
If so, is it any good?

Nothing below the tank is supplied, the sump is a Greyfish aquatic custom sump, it did come with a leveling pad for the tank, it’s Just ok. I used a yoga mat for the sump

Cool.
I'm getting their sump. I will be adding an external fuge fed by tee'd off drain.
Im also going to reconfigure the sump a bit to give me a 17 gallon ATO.

I started a build thread. Funny since I have not even received the tank yet.

Be careful transferring corals over from a tank with Dino’s

Did your current tank ever fully cycle before adding anything?...If you start with all new water you will need to cycle about 2 months...keep in mind that if you change too much water in a tank that has not established enough bacteria it may restart the cycle process.

My current tank has been up and running for over 5 years.
I've been running triton for over a year.

Tank was fully cycled. Never had a mini cycle.
Never had any cycle issues.

What makes you ask this?

I just went from a sca to the red sea I had no problem with the sca it did me good good luck with the build

I don’t know about the water box. But if it allows you to plumb it using standard pvc pipes you can find at your local home improvement store then I would
Go with that or any tank that allows it. I have a Red Sea reefer 250 and don’t like the fact that I have to use their pipes.

I have decided on a Waterbox 190 but it's out of stock.
I will call around to see when it might be available.
The decision would up being between the waterbox 190 or the RSR 625xxl.
The waterbox simply beats it in my opinion.
More overall water volume.
More display water volume
More sump water volume
Low iron Starfire glass all around
Better cabinet (uv waterproof paint throughout, soft close doors)
Better sump (my opinion)
Normal size socks
Built in manifold

Now if I can just find one for sale.
you should check out some of the build threads....been some pretty terrible experiences as of lately.

I wound up getting the SCA 180 gallon PNP system.
I hope it beats both the RSR and the Waterbox.
WAAAY more tank
Starfire glass
Plumbing included (I know) with 2 valves (I think)
Solid birchwood stand AND canopy
68 gallon sump
Waaaaay less money.

I'm waiting for the tank to arrive.
I already started the build thread.
