Red Sea Reefer Tank Seal Failure

I just had a seam rupture on a Red Sea XL425 tank and it leaked 100 gallons of fish water into my Home Theater. Just over 2 years old.

Has anyone figured out what’s causing this? I have a reefer 170 and it looks pretty well made. The glass scratches really easily so maybe it’s crappy/soft glass that flexes?

Low iron glass is why it scratches easy.

I think it's probably the largest break pattern/fail pattern assembled by web posters for a product in our hobby. the only other known fail run was neotherm 200 watt heaters circa 2012

were it not for web posters we wouldn't know about these breaks. what we know are the forum ones, I can't imagine the thousands on facebook/gram reported.
