I cant seem to find any info about what a Reefer doesnt include. I know i need a return pump, but what else do I need? Im looking specifically at the XL 425.

If you're looking at the Reefer systems, you'll need lights too, as those aren't included. RedSea Max tanks come with the lights & return pumps.

Here's a great thread about a ton of people's different RedSea Reefer tanks:

You need lights, return pump, thermometer, powerhead.

Im pretty sure the Red Sea Reefer Deluxe has lights. Other than that where can i buy lights? does red sea sell them?

You are right about the deluxe. That is the only difference between the deluxe and non-deluxe. Having bought the deluxe version of the reefer series, I have to say that the Hydra HD's are a pretty nice light. When you get the deluxe, you get a Red Sea's own version of a light mount. I was pretty impressed with the quality of the light mount. Very sturdy, clean looking and hides the cord well. The mount also has a hinge system to move the light out of the way for maintenance. In my opinion, the extra cost for the deluxe version is worth it.

Reefers are a great tank and suspect you’ll be very happy with one. It sounds like your first tank and you may wamt to to do some reading before you jump on in. This is a great place to start.

Ill also recommend Bulk Reef Supplies 52 weeks of Reefing series to help with your equipment choices.
