Red sea reefers

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2nd hand reefer 170 at a steal of a price, they're lovely looking tanks but I'm concerned on how many posts I've seen about them failing. What's everyone's opinion? I saw a comment from someone saying it was due to the front glass panel being unsupported. My current aqua one is pretty old hence the idea of upgrading

I like Red Sea. The front glass panel isn't supported on any Red Sea tank I know of. Its their design. I would think they know. I have a Reef 250 and I be leave they are up to serial number 30,000 so they may have a clue by now what they are doing.

They have had some fail but all manufactures have. A couple of models they have acknowledged design flaw and replaced and change design of the stand mostly. V number after the model number tells you version if in fact there are different versions. You can check there web site knowledge base for that. Good Luck!
