Has anyone installed a Red Sea reefmat1200 in a Red Sea Max S650 and if so how did you install it?

I'm waiting on mine for my S-650 Max tank. Looks very straight forward.
I did see what Red Sea recommended but I would like to validate. It seems that the reefmat will go where the protein skimmer was and the skimmer would be moved to the open space to the left. You would then cut the down pipe and attach that to the flexible hose that is the intake to the reefmat. But why cut the overflow pipe?

I wasnt sure about cutting the pipe also. I have a V1 sump and I can run the hose from the pipe under the first baffle into the reefmat I think. I dont have a filter sock holder to avoid so I might have more room than others with the newer sumps.

Ok got it installed this weekend. The filter is a beast! The only "modification" I had to do was glue in the adapter for the larger pipe on the Max S-650 after the pipe was cut.
So far im loving it! I hate dealing with filter socks.

Do you have pics and an explanation of exactly what you did?

Dont have a picture at the moment. The reefmat comes with adapters. I had to cut the main drain pipe about 8-10" and glue on the new adapters then screw on the new hose. From there its just placing the unit into the sump and attaching the other end of the hose.

One other question, did you cut the overflow pipe? How is it working out for you?
