Red Sea reefmat 500 in reefer 170?

Has anyone installed the Reef Mat 500 in a G1 Reefer 170? If so what did you remove from the sump? How are you liking it?

I don't have the link handy, but if you go to the ReefMat product page on Red Sea's website they show suggested ReefMat configurations for all tank models.

I took a look and they say to remove all panels. I’m curious if any one has done it with out removing everything.

I have one in my 250 g2. It is great to the point of being almost too good at its job haha. It pulls out everything. It is a tight fit in my sump and the sump was designed to take it, so not sure if it would actually fit in your sump.

My nitrate and phosphate is near zero and I douse the tank in foods. Honestly, unless you have issues with high nutrients I wouldn’t worry about it.

Haha I hear that. I still have a sock on my Max Nano and having the reef mat makes it even more obvious/tedious lol

Did you do it yet? If not, then have a look at the "new" 250; that might fit you better!

Great timing! I got the 250 as soon as it was stocked on BRS. Very easy tank mod and install and love it. Currently only using about 10cm a day so a roll is going to last a long time. Really happy I did this! No more sock cleaning!

I have the reef mat 250 on mine and I thought it was close to too big so 500 might take up a lot of our limited sump space. 500 would I guess be fine but really rated for way more flow than our tanks put out. Here is a pick of the 250 in might as a reference.
