So I switched to red sea pro and have no idea how to mix this using their directions. Basically I need to know how many cups of salt to mix with every 5 gallons. I am wanting the "coral" section, it will be used for mixed reef tank including SPS. Any help would be great!

We had a thread on this before and got mixed results. I thought that you could add the salt and not aerate it and it would disolve by itself. We even saw a video on this. Now we find out that it needs to be mixed four hours before putting it into tank.i started with two cups per five gallons but i did not aerate. I would start there and test after aerating and see what happens. I would be interested myself i knowing how many cups per 5 gallons. Great salt though.

I use a half cup per gallon...gets me close to 1.026 SG

That would be 5 cups for 5 gallons? Is that correct?

No 2 and 1/2 cups per five gallons. I have a 1/2 cup measuring spoon I keep in my salt bucket and just count out the number of gallons with it.

Ok great. I also heard it mixes at a higher ALK but what it says on the bucket is not any higher than others for the most part.
