I had used it in the past. I did find that it always left a brown residue in my mixing container, and something else really strange was that when I would put my arm in the water, I would get a rash. I've never had any other brand do this, even D-D H2Ocean which seems to be made by a similar method (evaporation of sea salt). I use ESV exclusively now.

What is the parameters of alk, calc and mag in the esv?

I have been using this salt for a year. There is a forum about it on another site. I am on the fence on this salt. It is a little tricky to mix. Apparently you have to mix cold or it will mix cloudy. And you have to sprinkle it into the water and have a fairly high gph mixing pump. I experienced this first hand and it was a little frustrating. It also does leave residue. I have to clean my mixing bucket every other time I mix and my mixing pump every couple times. Right now my mixing pump has a film of cloudy residue all over it. The residue I see is white or off whit, not brown.
That all being said, it tests spot on for the parameters that it states. My corals are happy and I seem to get fairly good growth. I mainly have z&ps and lps. I do have 2 monti caps.
I'm going to keep using it and see if I can figure out the sweet spot for lowering precipitation. If I can't, I will likely switch.

That is the beauty of this salt. It can be manipulated to what you want it, as it is made from individual components. When I mix it as per the directions, without any manipulation, at 1.026 SG, 1375 Mg, 425 Ca, 9-10 dKH. If you want more mag, you add more MgSO4, if you want more alk, you add more of I *THINK* Liquid B, more cal more of LIQUID A (I cannot remember which is which, because I mix it as per the directions chart). It is more labor intensive to mix than just dumping it out of the bucket, but, it is by far the best, most consistent salt I have used in 10 years.

I will give another nod for ESV. Prior to ESV I used Tropic Marin, prior to Tropic Marin, I used Reef Crystals. I switched to ESV because it matched closely to where I run my tank. I'm nearing the end of my first purchase of ESV and will reorder.

+1 just made this switch about a month ago. I'm getting almost the exact params. I think more and more people will be making this switch in the near future.
